- My greatest concern is that the merger is taking so long and the
speculations over the future of Java & other Open Source technology &
Communities itself cause a lot of damage. The main question is what
Oracle could do to minimize that damage? (Anton Epple NBDT Munich Germany)
- Has the Java src language reached a similar point that C++ did when there were too many features, and it was time for a new uber-language?
(Frank Greco New York JavaSIG)
- What's your opinion of functional languages for large scale
multi-core programming? (Frank Greco New York JavaSIG)

- Any idea when the JWebPane component is supposed to
resurface? (Manfred Riem Utah JUG)
- James, Earlier this year at JavaOne, Larry Ellison seemed to hint that you would be the one that will be assigned the huge task of having to “land” the development communities at Oracle. As this is all in our best interests, how can we, as Java User Group Leaders and Java Champions, help you with that? [Hans Bossenbroek - Dutch JUG]
- James, during
your keynote appearance at Oracle OpenWorld you were asked by Scott
McNealy whether OpenWorld and JavaOne could be a combined conference.
Your answer was kind of evasive, but now that you are amongst fellow
Java developers, can you *really* see those two conferences combined or
are they just a whole different ballgame? [Hans Bossenbroek - Dutch JUG]
